Part of my research endeavors include the completion of a journey documenting and presenting 1960s-1970s print studios practices. This initiative will focus on artistic print networks as an historical legacy of South American art, but also as an urgent concern for their present and future. The series will serve as an incubator for course-based projects to generate new opportunities for civic and community engagement, a core graduation requirement. The projects will range from archival-based research courses with points of inter-institutional collaboration to experiential learning opportunities exploring contemporary implications resulting from historical print studios active during the political repressive Cold War period. The lab model will promote communication and cross-fertilization among projects and support shared needs in digital media presentation, while also ensuring alignment with learning goals.
